CoreWeave is teaming up with Run:ai to offer customers artificial intelligence (AI) training and inference.
The collaboration will see CoreWeave customers able to manage workloads on its infrastructure via the Run:ai platform.
Run:ai’s platform has been designed to optimise AI computing resources in the cloud, and has worked with CoreWeave to integrate their technologies.
The two have successfully teamed up over the past year, for example delivering Run:ai installations in CoreWeave Kubernetes Service clusters including hundreds of Nvidia H100 GPUs connected via Nvidia Quantum-2 InfiniBand for an AI lab.
Brian Venturo, Chief Strategy Officer at CoreWeave said, “Run:ai is an incredible tool for CoreWeave customers who want a more hands-off approach to accelerating AI deployments. The platform is scalable, agile, and cost-effective for enterprise customers—requiring no manual resource intervention.”
Yael Dor, VP of Sales and Partnerships at Run:ai, added: “CoreWeave’s platform offers the robust, cloud-based infrastructure our customers need. Our partnership has enabled us to deliver powerful, integrated solutions that drive real value for enterprises. We look forward to building on this success and advancing AI capabilities together in the future.”
Founded in 2017 and originally focused on crypto and blockchain applications, CoreWeave has invested heavily in its cloud offering, providing access to GPUs for AI applications. The company has raised $12bn in investment and debt in the last two years and has been on a major data centre leasing spree.
CoreWeave has had a busy 2024 thus far. In the last few months alone, the company has announced that it would be launching data centres in Sweden, Norway, and Spain, and made a $1bn bid to acquire cryptomine and HPC hosting firm Core Scientific which was rejected.
The company confirmed in late August that it would be leasing capacity from EcoDataCenter in Sweden to deploy “one of Europe’s first large-scale Nvidia Blackwell clusters.
Last month, it was revealed that data centre firms Chirisa and Powerhouse were teaming up with asset manager Blue Owl to develop a multi-billion dollar joint venture that would develop data centres for CoreWeave.
Run:ai was founded in 2018 by Geller and Ronen Dar, and raised $75 million in a Series-C funding round in March 2022. In April 2024, Nvidia entered into an agreement to acquire the company. Terms of the acquisition were not shared, though reports in March suggested it could reach the value of up to $1 billion. Nvidia is an investor in CoreWeave.
