Google debuts Gemini Pro for developers and enterprises and introduces Vertex AI and Google AI studio as open-source Gemini API tools to customise their use cases.
Google launched Gemini Pro just after the debut of Gemini for developers and enterprises to build for their use cases. Google’s team will further fine-tune it in the weeks and months ahead.
The first version of Gemini Pro will be accessible via the Gemini API and have many features. Some features will include a 32K context window for text, future versions, support for 38 languages across 180+ countries and territories worldwide, SDKs to help users build apps that run anywhere, and much more.
Its other features include function calls, embeddings, semantic retrieval, custom knowledge grounding and chat functionality.
Google also introduced Google AI Studio and Vertex AI, allowing users to use their APIs seamlessly. Google AI Studio, a free, web-based developer tool, will enable developers to quickly develop prompts and get an API key for their app development.
Meanwhile, Vertex AI, a fully managed AI platform, will allow developers and enterprises to easily transition from Google AI Studio to Vertex AI. Furthermore, it will allow the customisation of Gemini with full data control and benefits from additional Google Cloud features for enterprise security, safety, privacy, data governance, and compliance.
Gemini Pro will be free to use within limits and competitively priced in the upcoming days.
