Circle to Search is a new way to search for anything on a phone with a simple gesture, without switching apps.
Google has recently introduced Circle to Search, introduced two new features for millions of users worldwide. These features not only make search functions accessible but also offer a lot more information right at the fingertips. With its investments in AI, Google has developed new ways to express what one is looking for, and that too, in the most natural way. The two new features are Circle to Search and AI-powered overviews for multi-search in Lens.
Alistair Pott, Director, Product Management, Search App on Android, said, “Circle to Search, we think, is a meaningful step forward in helping people to express their needs and to stay in there and their context stay where they are. And, multi-search is something I’m very excited about, especially in conjunction with the circle to search, allowing users to more naturally and intuitively express their needs.”
This feature lets users search anything their your Android phone screen without having to switch applications. All it takes is a simple gesture – select what makes them curious by circling, highlighting, scribbling, or even tapping. This will open information about the object highlighted in the app itself.
According to Google, with its AI-powered upgrades and multisearch, the ability to search with text and images at the same time, users can easily understand concepts, ideas, or topics from helpful information that’s pulled from across the web. The feature is coming to select premium Android devices such as the Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro, and the new Samsung Galaxy S24 Series.
