At the 7th annual event for the global ICT industry, Huawei Connect 2022, Zhang Ping’an, CEO of Huawei Cloud, announced the company’s plans to launch new Regions in Indonesia and Ireland, unveiled the “Go Cloud, Go Global” ecosystem plan, and reaffirmed the commitment to Everything as a Service.

Also speaking at Huawei Connect, Ken Hu, Huawei’s Rotating Chairman, stated that organisations should embrace the cloud for leapfrog development as digital smart tech is the future. Huawei Cloud has integrated more than 240 services and more than 50,000 APIs to bring the latest AI, application development, and big data technologies and tools to the cloud. The innovation and expertise of Huawei Cloud will help more organisations move to the cloud faster and better.

With the launch of the new Regions in Indonesia and Ireland, more users will be able to conveniently access and use Huawei Cloud services covering infrastructure, AI, media, and data. By the end of this year, Huawei Cloud will have deployed 29 Regions and 75 availability zones (AZs), covering more than 170 countries and regions.

Huawei aims to connect data centres to data centres and data centres to users, with high-speed backbone networks boosted by 1700 carrier networks. “Our goal is the optimal route for network access, with compelling latency and stability,” he added. Huawei Cloud is committed to building one global network, which allows services on Huawei Cloud to be accessed within 50 milliseconds from anywhere on the globe. This means users can seamlessly enjoy the best-in-class experience even for services such as real-time multimedia, gaming, and online classes.

“We build and take care of the infrastructure – the servers, storage, networks, redundancy, security, and all the rest – so you don’t need to build your own data centres,” said Ping’an. “With a local connection to our cloud, it takes just one click to get Infrastructure as a Service. It’s as easy as turning on a tap, at lower cost and smaller carbon footprint.”

Huawei’s portfolio also includes cloud-cloud collaboration. This synergises the services and channels of Huawei Cloud and Huawei Mobile Services to create more user value.

During the event, Huawei highlighted three key pillars of its strategy to build a cloud foundation for an intelligent world: Infrastructure as a Service, Technology as a Service, and Expertise as a Service to help partners unleash the full potential of digital.

“At Huawei Cloud, we are committed to a digital ecosystem by all and for all. Up to now, we have over 38,000 partners and 3 million developers around the world. Our ecosystem makes your cloud journey easier and expands your global reach. Now, we take this ecosystem one step further with our “Go Cloud, Go Global” plan,” he added.

Huawei Cloud will make it easier for organisations to use cloud technologies and helps cloud-empowered enterprises go global with our global marketing, service, and ecosystem support derived from Huawei’s globalisation and localisation experience in more than 170 countries and regions as industry insights and practical experience in hotspot areas.

Huawei Cloud sticks to the “by local, for local” approach for building a global digital ecosystem. Over the next three years, Huawei Cloud will provide support for at least 10,000 promising startups around the world, with support including cost optimisation, technical support, entrepreneurship training, and other business resources.

Jacqueline Shi, President of Huawei Cloud’s Global Marketing and Sales Service, introduced 15 innovative Huawei Cloud services, including CCE Turbo, Ubiquitous Cloud Native Service (UCS), Pangu wave model, DataArts LakeFormation, Virtual Live, CodeCheck and CloudTest, KooMessage, KooSearch, and KooGallery.

The three-day conference in Bangkok is the first stop on HUAWEI CONNECT’s global tour in 2022. Held under the theme “Unleash Digital,” over 10,000 ICT industry leaders, experts, and partners from around the world gathered to explore how to unleash digital productivity, promote the digital economy, and build up stronger digital ecosystems more effectively.
