Red Hat, the world’s leading provider of enterprise open-source solutions and Nutanix, a leader in hybrid multi-cloud computing, recently hosted an alignment event in Riyadh on the back of the strategic partnership between the two companies announced in July.

The event reiterated the commitment to help organisations in Saudi on their cloud journey by delivering a powerful solution for building, scaling and managing cloud-native applications on-premises and in hybrid clouds.

The collaboration brings together industry-leading technologies, enabling installation, interoperability and management of Red Hat OpenShift and Red Hat Enterprise Linux with Nutanix Cloud Platform, including Nutanix AOS and AHV.

Mohammad Abulhouf, Senior Sales Director KSA and Bahrain at Nutanix, says, “Hybrid cloud strategies are evolving faster than ever across every industry in Saudi. Organisations count on flexibility and freedom of choice to build, run, and manage applications at scale. They demand better interoperability and support from leading cloud technology companies like Nutanix and Red Hat. Many organisations seek to run Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Red Hat OpenShift with the Nutanix Cloud Platform in a certified environment. Our two companies have listened to the market and now provide a solution for open hybrid clouds, where customers have choice and flexibility.”

“The alignment between Nutanix and Red Hat is set on an obvious strategy of helping our customers in Saudi bridge the gap between private clouds and public clouds and build the right hybrid cloud model, which is the targeted model for most of our Saudi customers for the next five years,” he says.

There is substantial value in store for joint customers, beginning with the certification of Nutanix Cloud Platform, including Nutanix’s built-in hypervisor, AHV, for Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Red Hat OpenShift. AHV is enterprise-proven and trusted by many large enterprises, including Fortune 500 customers, to support their most demanding tier-1 workloads.

Enterprise customers demand RHEL and OpenShift to support their workloads, along with the Nutanix Cloud Platform (based on AOS infrastructure and AHV hypervisor) to provide resilient and scalable data centre infrastructure. Together, these solutions comprise a best-in-class, simplified full-stack solution for virtualised and cloud-native applications.

Ali Al Shammi, Country Manager, KSA and Bahrain, Red Hat, added: “As Saudi Arabian enterprises look to the future and prepare to operate in digitally-evolving business climates, successful cloud migration will be integral for continuity, practicality, and sustainability.

As such, Red Hat was proud to collaborate with Nutanix as part of a unified effort to ensure as many enterprises as possible can develop and integrate cloud-native, multi-environment applications that align with their respective visions. The provision of empowering technologies to enterprise communities has always been a topmost priority for Red Hat, and the latest step forward in this direction was made at the recent event in Riyadh.”

Consistent with customers’ expectations, the certification is backed by joint customer support. Customers in need of any technical support will benefit from the combined expertise of the Red Hat and Nutanix global support teams working together. They will be able to reach out to either team for initial support.

The shared vision for supporting mutual customers goes beyond pre-sales and post-sales engagements. Red Hat and Nutanix, through joint engineering efforts, roadmap reviews and product planning, will focus on interoperability that delivers additional customer value for Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Red Hat OpenShift running on the Nutanix Cloud Platform.

Enterprises considering the Nutanix Cloud Platform for the foundation of their on-prem OpenShift deployment can test drive the solution. The Nutanix Test Drive offers hands-on experience with the tools needed to build the cloud — infrastructure, operations, data, apps, DR, and more.
